
LOUISVILLE, KY - The Derby City Film Festival has announced the 45 films selected to be screened- representing over 12 countries and including 2 films from Indianapolis. The 2010 Derby City Film Festival runs February 19th-21st at the Clifton Center. The 2 Indianapolis filmmakers are:
My Bloody Wedding (Directed by: Morgan Mead) A dorky young mamma’s boys, Doug and his beautiful bride to be- Callista, have been saving themselves for marriage. But lately he has been seeing a change come over Callista. She’s been sneaking out at night and begins to display flu-like symptoms. What he doesn’t know is that she has become possessed and she’s been eating his friends and family! Doug and his remaining groomsmen must team up to stop Callista and her possessed bridesmaids before they kill everyone in sight. SCREENING: Sat. Feb. 20th- 8:00PM
Sam Steele & the Junior Detective Agency (Directed by: Tom Whitus) Sam Steele Jr. wants to be like his father, a renowned detective with the metro police. So when summer vacation starts, Sam decides to turn his clubhouse into headquarters for the Junior Detective Agency. Sam recruits tween Emma Marsh for his receptionist when he sees her dog Doug has a nose for solving crimes. SCREENING: Sun. Feb. 21st- 3:30PM
The 45 selections include 13 international films, 14 world premieres and 7 US premieres. The categories include: Feature, Documentary, US Short, and International Short. The festival will also include selected film panels (TBA) and film workshops conducted by independent film leaders in writing, acting, and FX make-up.
Festival passes and tickets are on sale now through website. The Bluegrass Brewing Company will host the Friday and Saturday after parties with live music and drink specials for film festival patrons. Tickets for the awards reception are limited and will only be available until February 1st, 2010.
