MAF Summer Screenings

Mid America Filmmakers presents their annual summer screening this year at the Century Center’s Recital Hall in downtown South Bend, during and following Art Beat on Saturday, August 28. There will be three showings of a selection of local and regional short films

There will be two free one-hour screenings at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for the general public, and a two-hour screening at 7:00 p.m. with more mature content for an admi...ssion cost of $5.00 at the door.

FILM DESCRIPTIONS:

“Bad TV” (3 episodes) by Scott Goble* and Shane Roby* (10-15 min, sitcom) If you think producing a TV show is difficult, try producing the second to last place one; while starring in a reality show about it.

“Fresh Fruit Pie” by Carl Obremski (2 min, trailer) - Get ready for fast-paced, non-stop, insane comedy action, because Fresh Fruit Pie is going to rock your world!

“Opportunity Jones” by Steve Bensics* (29 min, comedy) - The residents of Niles, Michigan try to achieve success with unique combination of 70's jive and multi-level marketing before the arrival of the Apocalypse.

“Comatose” by David Gillead (10 min, narrative) - Phil has been in an accident leaving him in a coma. He tries to piece together how this happened.

“The Transient” by Chris Lukeman (25 min, narrative) - A homeless vigilante and his case worker/sidekick Steve try to stop Vampire Abraham Lincoln from sucking the blood of four score and seven virgins.

“Harvey Putter” by Tim Richardson* and Michael Kouroubetes* (5 min, music video) – The official music video for the feature-film “Harvey Putter and the Ridiculous Premise.”

“Silence of the Belle” by Marx Pile (24 min., narrative) - After an accident at work, Belle finds herself in a bizarre silent film world where she thinks she has found her dream man, but instead finds danger.
